Post F P education & employment:

I finished Beauty School--2000 hours. I worked several years as a beautician. Raised my family. My husband and I had a cleaning company and a fruit stand in Belfair, Wash. for many years. A Jack Of All Trades & Master Of None.

Fondest memory of your years at F P:

I enjoyed singing in the talent shows. It was fun and embarassing too. I did win 2nd place in the eleventh grade.
Other fond memories: Girls Club, VCY, class assemblies, watching the football players practice, trying to stay dry in the breezeways, the crowded hallways, the kids, the noise, the smiles, class dances friends who I miss. Our class leaders were great.

Who was your favorite F P teacher, and why?

Ron Smith, music. He was encouraging to me. I was a 2nd soprano. He said since I had a talent and wanted to sing I should pursue taking voice lessons. I was in chorus and I would have loved to be in choir. Also I thought Mr. Schimke was pretty great. He taught drivers ed & US History. I was in both of his classes. What a patient guy. Amazing individual.

Where else have you lived since graduation?

My husband and I lived in Cabo San Lucas Mexico for 6 months. It was quite an adventure, hot and beautiful. But home is where your heart is, and for me that's Wash. State.

Travels, special interests or hobbies:

I enjoy painting, cooking and family.
I'm trying to write a novel about my life, including a glimpse of Big-foot.

What makes you happy:

I like the ocean; taking walks; light hiking; photography; pictures of nature. My Grandsons, playing guitars and singing.
I've learned to think for myself. Have positive self-talks. Make creative choices. Be a loving and accepting friend. Honoring your past, present, and potential.
I'm still learning everyday. We all come from different neighborhoods and different kinds of lifestyles. High School is a big deal and a great opportunity. A fantastic achievement. Good teachers make a difference to impressionable young people. I graduated with a C- average. Sometimes I felt pretty broken. But we are still here and today celebrating 50 wonderful years of life; congrats to all!
